I received this email....
At least two members of Nanaimo city council would support a provincial ban on pit bulls if the legislature introduced such a law.
"The protection of the public has to be served before allowing individuals to own any animal," said [City Councillor Merv] Unger, who said he had no qualms about the city introducing a ban.

This is a great opportunity to send a group's "info kit" with some basic facts and lots of color pics of Pits and regular people. Fend it off before it gets worse.... _________________ "The only thing that two dog trainers can agree upon is that the third trainer is wrong." |

How many times have I called to complain about Off leash Large aggressive dogs. How many times do I in a public Park have to yell at the owner to gain control over his dog running at me aggressively. How many times do I have to fork out a Vet bill Because I with my "Pitt bull" have been attacked by a Apparently NoN restricted dog. This IS ridiculous. This city that I live in needs to stop being so lazy and Start enforcing Its by laws. This would Stop "dogs" being able to chase and attack off leash in a Public Park. Also seeing People walk their Pits pass the police station at 1 in the afternoon, unleashed, So lets ban a animal because of an owner neglecting his responsibility to follow By laws that are enforced On all Dogs. Lets stop owners Neglect then discuss if there still is a problem Otherwise all dogs Big and small will be on the chop block _________________ Bad owners make bad breeds |

And it always comes down to that BB, the city uses this crap as a band aid answer to a greater problem. If the municipalities would enforce the bylaws they have in place, pet owners and citizens could all live a happier, safer and more pleasant life. I really hope that this doesn't go through. _________________ "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." |
