(provided by Loki's Mom - Thanks!)

To post pictures here on HugABull, I reccommend using an image hosting place such as picturetrail or photobucket. Picturetrail is what I use, so these instructions will apply to posting with picturetrail. If someone who uses photobucket wants to post a something similar for photobucket, please do so!

1.) You must first register yourself with Picturetrail and log in each time you use it.

2.) Click on "Upload Pics" its on the tool bar at the top of the screen

2.) Browes through your "My Pictures" or wherever you store your photo's on your computer and pick what ones you want to Upload. you can upload as many as 15 at a time but
I'd only Upload a few at a time to make sure they work. Once you have picked your files click "Upload Now"

3.) It will take a minute to process but then it should give you 3 options CHOOSE "Get Image URL's"

4.) It will then take you to your Gallary and will give you many different URL Links you want to copy the "Forum [IMG] Tag"

5.) Open a discussion window in the HugABull Forum and Paste the link that you copied.

6.) Preview your message to make sure the image show up.

I hope that helps you

In addition to Loki's Mom's info:

To post a picture, it must first be hosted online - you cannot upload a picture from your computer, directly to the forum. So, in other words, if the picture is in your photo album on your computer, and you try to do something like

[ img ]http: //C:/ProgramFiles/MyPictures/picturename [ /img ]

You'll just get a red x.

I use

to host my pics. It's free, it's easy, and I can upload up to 19 pictures at a time (more if you've got an FTP program, but that's a whole different story, and if you're using FTP, you probably don't need any help posting pics! Wink ).

Photobucket, like PictureTrail, has the nice feature of ready made "tags". This means there's a little box under each pic in your online album that contains stuff like [ img ]http ://www.photobucket.com/youralbum/yourpicname.jpg [ /img ] (without the spaces), and
<img src="http ://www.photobucket.com/youralbum/yourpicname.jpg" >

Just copy one of those (doesn't matter which, although, in this forum, the BBC code - the [img] ones - works, and is easier), and paste it here. Preview before you post, to make sure it worked.

If your pic is located somewhere online, but NOT in a pic hosting place, like, for example, a pic of a dog on Petfinder, you can post it without downloading it and then uploading to your Picture hosting site - you just hotlink it.

This means you right click on the image, wherever it is (or, if you're a Mac user like me, you hold down the control key and click for a menu), go to "open image in new window". Then, copy the URL from the address bar when it opens. Come back here, and, in your post, where you want to show the pic, click the Img tag, paste the URL, click the Img tag again. It should then look like this:

[img ]addressofpic[ /img]

Clear as mud? Wink

Then upload your image and resize it to Thumbnail size.
Then on Hug website, sign in and go into Profile and then upload to Avatar at the bottom of the page.

Hope that helps.
